Stained glass window above the entrance to Ysgol Y Frenni
Shortly after we launched Williams & Welsby at the beginning of this month we were approached by the Chair of Ysgol Y Frenni's PTA to see if we would be able to take on their first ever fundraising calendar photoshoot. We were delighted to accept.
The day was wet as we unloaded all our lighting and camera equipment but needless to say we were more concerned with getting set up. The commission was to shoot almost 200 children who would be in costumes representing the month they were born in, and given Y Frenni is a Primary school we knew we'd have some tots to deal with.
By 09:00 the first children were ready and I have to say they looked fantastic. The theme for January was love because of the Welsh saint St Dwynwen, "patron saint" of Welsh lovers and the kids were resplendent in red. With each month came a different theme, from Easter through summer beach-wear to harvest in September and beyond.
The morning passed without a hiccup with the staff being unbelievably well-organised - there was ne'r a tear or a tantrum, and the children were well-behaved as well... It was clear the parents had embraced the idea and all the children seemed to be in some costume or other.
Back home and to the editing. I have to say that the photos are looking fabulous and are shortly heading off to the printers. Want to see them? Pop back in December for a look at the gallery.
Finally, thanks to the school for asking us along. We enjoyed our time with you and hope we can be of help in 2016.
